Victoria Falls Bridge was completed in 1905 as part of Cecil Rhodes' Cape to Cairo railway vision. It spans 198 meters across the Zambezi Gorge, 128 meters above the river. Designed by Sir Ralph Freeman, it's a steel arch bridge used for rail, road, and foot traffic.
The jump platform is on the Victoria Falls Bridge, which stands 128 meters above the Zambezi River. The actual jump is 111 meters from platform to water surface. It's operated by AJ Hackett, one of the world's most experienced bungee operators.
The bridge swing involves jumping off Victoria Falls Bridge and swinging in a giant arc 70 meters above the Zambezi River. It's like a giant pendulum swing and can be done solo or tandem. Different from bungee jumping as you swing rather than bounce.
Packages usually include: Accommodation, airport transfers, some meals, guided tours of the falls, and selected activities. Prices range from $500-$3000+ per person for 3-7 nights. Some include safaris to nearby parks like Chobe or Hwange.
There are several licensed operators including: Batoka Sky, Zambezi Helicopter Company, and United Air Charters. All follow strict safety regulations. Flights depart from both Zimbabwe and Zambia sides, with similar pricing and routes.
Helicopter tours include: Safety briefing, headsets for pilot commentary, 15-25 minute flight depending on package, views of the entire falls, Zambezi River, surrounding rainforest, and sometimes wildlife sightings. Photos can be taken through the windows.
