Arrival & Transfer to Lodge (11:00–13:00): guests are met on arrival by a professional representative and transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to the lodge. En route orientation briefing provided, followed by check-in and time to refresh before the afternoon program.
After checking in and resting for an hour, go for an afternoon guided tour of the falls: Begin by passing through the iconic Big Tree, a centuries-old baobab that stands as a natural landmark and a testament to the region’s rich ecological heritage. Discover its remarkable age, massive size, cultural significance, and the unique role it plays in supporting local wildlife.
From there, continue into the Victoria Falls Rainforest, following established pathways that traverse all 16 official viewing points. Highlights include close-up perspectives of the Main Falls, Devil’s Cataract, Horseshoe Falls, and the dramatic Knife Edge, accompanied by sweeping vistas of the Victoria Falls Bridge and the Batoka Gorge, with detailed interpretive commentary throughout.
After the guided tour, enjoy a return transfer to your lodge or a selected restaurant for a relaxing dinner, reflecting on the day’s breathtaking views and experiences.
Day 2 begins with breakfast at the lodge or hotel, followed by a morning of optional experiences. Guests can choose a cultural tour to explore local traditions and communities, a guided Victoria Falls Bridge tour offering panoramic views and historical insights, or a city tour highlighting the key landmarks, markets, and attractions of the surrounding area.
In the afternoon, after lunch and some leisure time at the hotel, embark on a sunset cruise at 3 PM along the Zambezi River. Enjoy scenic views and the chance to spot wildlife from the boat, including hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, all while soaking in the golden hues of the setting sun for a truly memorable experience.
In the evening, guests may opt for a traditional Boma dinner accompanied by a lively drum show, offering a taste of local cuisine and cultural entertainment. The experience concludes with a return to the lodge for an overnight stay, with departure scheduled the following morning.
Before you go
Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) serves the Zimbabwe side and Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (LVI) serves Livingstone, Zambia. Both have basic facilities including currency exchange, car rentals, and transfers to hotels. VFA has recently been upgraded with improved terminals and amenities.
For domestic flights, arrive 1.5 hours before departure. For international flights, arrive 2-3 hours early. The airports are relatively small but can get busy during peak tourist seasons. Check-in counters typically open 2 hours before flight time.
The best time depends on your priorities: February-May for maximum water flow, September-December for Devil's Pool access and clearer views, or April-June for pleasant weather with moderate water flow. Avoid November if you want clear photos as spray can be heavy.
Yes, October is excellent! Water levels are moderate, the spray isn't overwhelming, weather is warm (25-35°C), and Devil's Pool is usually accessible. It's less crowded than peak season and offers good value for money.
September offers excellent conditions: Water flow is reduced enough for clear views, weather is warm and dry, Devil's Pool opens (usually mid-August to January), and it's shoulder season with fewer crowds. Perfect for photography and activities.
