German Currency

Here is some general information on Germany and the national currency (Euro) that I hope will be useful for anyone planning a trip here.

One of the first things you will need to do when planning your trip to Germany is convert your national currency to the Euro. To do this you can either get it prior to your departure at your local bank, or get it at the arrival airport in Germany at a currency conversion table.

Last Minute Travel

There’s no shortage of websites offering last minute travel deals. The idea behind these deals is that if a hotel is going to have a room empty or a flight is going to have an empty seat, it’s better for them to offer it to you at the last minute for a steep discount than it is to just let that spare capacity go to waste.

The big contradiction of last minute travel, however, is that while the places with a lot of spare capacity get cheaper, the places with very little get much more expensive. Booking Christmas flights at the last minute, for example, will never get you a good deal, simply because so many people want those flights. Instead, you will probably end up paying much more than you would have if you had booked early.

Damaged Coral Reef in Bang Tao Beach, Phuket Revived in an Extensive Restoration Project

Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand, is immensely popular for its natural coral reef; reports Castlewood Group, a Singapore based commercial Real Estate company who are building a luxury Hotel in Phuket. But as the tourism increased and monsoons hit, the coral reef was damaged which was devastating news.

In plans to maintain the reef, different organizations banded together to build an artificial reef which experts agree is essential to ensure the future of the corals. The main damage is in the shallow waters and without help, will take years to recover. Tighter controls are expected over dive boats and dive sites in an attempt to increase the speedy and healthy return of the reefs, while still encouraging tourists and divers to come to this beautiful part of Phuket to enjoy the peace and tranquility that Bang Tao Beach has to offer.
